The sea and the mountains meet in the east of Asturias. From Cuanda, from The Magic Mountain, the spectacular beauty of this encounter can be appreciated. A unique place to sleep or awake before the majestic view of the Naranjo de Bulnes in the Peaks of Europe and at the same time have the most beautiful beaches of Llanes within easy reach or the opportunity to practise potholing hand gliding, outdorr activities and golf.
This farmstead has been rigorously rehabilitated following the traditional Asturian architecture and offers all the modern conveniences, spacious rooms with bathrooms, two storey apartments with log fires, dining room, lounge and balcony. These is a library available to guest and acces to the workshop, horreo (Asturias construction used to house garden products), stables and greenhouse.
Cuanda is situated 500 meters from the village of Allende in 50.000 sq. meters of pastures and woodland, perfect for country walks, horse-riding or simply to lose oneself the peaceful surroundings. Planned (itineraries) are available from the establishment to practise trekking.
The Magic Mountain is about 10 kms from the best beaches in Llanes (Niembro, Torimbia, Barro, Celorio), very near of the Peaks of Europa and the Picos de Europa National Park (23 kms. Arenas de Cabrales, 30 de Cangas de Onís). Within a radius of 25 kms. the visitor has the chance to appreciate the greatest concentration of pre-historic caves and shelters with their rupestring paintings (Tito Bustillo, El Pindal, El Buxu, Peña Tú...).
The Asturcones (small local horses) have inhabited this land for the past 3.000 year and although at one point they were in danger of extinction, they were higly appreciated by the Romans. Cuanda offers the visitor the opportunity of contemplating these docile animals along the local trails in the peace and quiet of the farmstead. Freshly grown local garden products, green vegetables, meat, honey are used for enjoyable breakfasts and homemade Asturian food.
